The power of confession

I believe that God is compressing time for me.

I am entering into God's rest.

Heb 4:2 KJV For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them; “unto them” he is speaking of Israel—that the good news of entering into the promised land, that God had prepared a land for them to inherit cities they didn’t build, houses they didn’t build, etc.—that was the gospel that was preached to them. And we too, we have the gospel of Christ—of forgiveness of sins, of redemption, of the finished work of Christ. But the Bible says when they heard it, they didn’t mix it with faith. That was the problem, so they were disinherited.

What does it mean to mix what I hear with faith? I hear it, and I say it in the confession of faith. But when they heard, they confessed negatively. God said He had given them the land, but they started complaining.

Num 14:2-3 KJV 2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! 3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

And God said to Moses; Num 14:27-28 KJV 27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. 28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

They were disinherited because of negative confessions.

So when God says positive things about me, I don’t go saying negative things. I’m destroying what God has intended for me because my mouth is the control center of my destiny.

Pro 18:21 KJV Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

If I will enter into His rest, it’s in my mouth.

To believe in your heart alone that good things are going to happen to me is not faith. Faith has not arrived, because faith is voice-activated. If you don’t say it, you don’t see it. It is the process, but faith has not arrived.

2Co 4:13 KJV We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

It is believing in your heart and speaking. If you don’t speak it, the power is not released.

Job 22:28-30 KJV 28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. 29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. 30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.

The Bible says Mar 11:23 KJV For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

What you say, what you say, what you say.

We rule with our words.
1Co 2:12-13 KJV 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Speak them out, speak the blessings out.

Adam was to rule with his words; we rule with our words. Actually, this year, start speaking.

The Bible says Adam was made a living soul. In the Hebrew, he was made a speaking spirit because he was to rule with his words.

1Co 15:45 KJV And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

THE PROCEDURE TO CONFESS THE WORD.

Heb 4:11 KJV Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

How do you labour unto rest? Two opposite words. If you rest, you don’t labour; if you labour, you don’t rest. It’s an oxymoron, but he is telling us to labour to enter into that rest. There is a kind of labour where, when you labour, you enter into your rest.

The word labour here in the Greek is the word “spoudazo,” literally related to the word speed.

So the Greek says, Let us therefore use speed to enter into that rest...

And in verse 1, Heb 4:1 KJV Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

“Come short” means to delay in the promises, and God doesn’t want us to delay. So He has given us a remedy for delay. So the verse says, Let us therefore use speed to enter into that rest...

This year God wants to give me speed. He has given us the key to use speed.

There is a kind of labour that, if you labour that way, speed will come. What is that labour?

Verse 12 Heb 4:12 KJV For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

This verse explains verse 11—how to use speed to enter into our rest. What is the way? The Word of God. The Word of God is not slow; it is quick to give you healing, peace, joy, etc. People shun away from the Word thinking that the Word of God is slow. The way to receive speed is to keep close to the Word of God.

1Ti 4:15 KJV Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Whatever miracle or breakthrough you’re looking for, take the Bible and search for the areas of your greatest need. Get verses, write them down, and meditate on them. In verse 12 the answer is in verse 14.

Heb 4:14 KJV Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

It’s a process. Now he has told us how to use speed, then he said we should lay hold on the Word because the Word of God is quick to give us what we want.

Then when you get hold of the Word, what do you do? He speaks of the expression “high priest of our confession.” This expression appears three times in the book of Hebrews; that means it is very important.

Heb 3:1 KJV Jesus is called the high priest of our confession Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Heb 10:19-21 KJV 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

Confession is the word “homologeo.”
Homo means the same.
Logos is the word.

So “homologeo” is the same word.

The word confession is saying the same word in agreement.

So after you have laboured and gotten those verses, you say them.

Jesus is called the high priest of our confession three times. That means that He is in heaven. If you don’t confess the Word, you limit the ministry of your High Priest. No confession, no High Priest.

Rom 10:8 KJV But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
